A Superb Showing Season - New Stud Males
Thief of Hearts Alpaca Stud has introduced some new stud males into its breeding program. Banksia Park HBN Magnate ET (Magnate), Banksia Park Hot Gossip (Hot Gossip), and most recently Blackgate Lodge Suntory (Suntory).
We've talked about Magnate and Hot Gossip before, as recently shorn imports they arrived with just enough fleece to consider entering them in some of the shows of the season.
Magnate started the season as a Junior and ended it as an Intermediate. He is White/Light Fawn. Magnate won both his classes, at the Kumeu Show and the Auckland Royal and he took the Championship for Junior Male Huacaya at both shows. He also took the colour championship for White/Light Fawn at both these shows.
Hot Gossip started the season as an Intermediate and ended it as a Senior. He is Mid/Dark Fawn. Hot Gossip also won his classes at both shows, taking the Championships for Intermediate Male Huacaya and the Colour Championships both times.
Then in the last line ups, being compared only to each other, Magnate took SUPREME CHAMPION HUACAYA at the Kumeu Show and Hot Gossip took SUPREME CHAMPION HUACYA at the Auckland Royal!
This was very exciting as we’d only had the boys ourselves for a very short time and we had chosen Magnate for purchase when he was just 3 days old, for him to take a SUPREME as a Junior guaranteed a very good start to the show year.
Magnate at just 3 Days old
Our first two shows of the season, the first time we’d shown these boys and they’d both taken out SUPREME! And the good news just kept coming, we couldn’t show either boy at Waikato’s World but they made up for it at the other shows during the year.

Magnate placed 2nd at the Central Region Show and took Reserve Champion intermediate Male, he placed 2nd at the National Expo and 1st at the Manawatu A&P Show taking Champion Intermediate Male.
Hot Gossip won his classes at the Central Region Show, National Expo and the Manawatu Show each time taking Reserve Champion Senior Male Huacaya. He also place 2nd at the Royal NZ Canterbury Show.
Both boys are spectacular young males who will be a very valuable addition to our breeding program.

Our newest purchase Blackgate Lodge Suntory made his debut at the 2009 Rotorua Show. Suntory on his first NZ outing won his class (Junior Male White/Light Fawn), took Champion White/Light Fawn and was placed SUPREME CHAMPION HUACAYA.
Suntory was Reserve Champion Junior Male at the Australian 2008 National Show and Sale. His sire is the famous Camelot Tor an 8 times SUPREME CHAMPION in Australia.
